Today’s review features the Love And Madness x Star Wars Darth Vader and Yoda hair clips. I am so happy to see hair clips in the Love And Madness x Star Wars collection, as many licensed Star Wars jewelry companies don’t include hair accessories in their range. Over the years my own hair length tends to vary from shoulder length to nearly at my hips, so I’m always in need of good hair clips and accessories – these designs are a great way to adding a little Star Wars to my hairstyle.

The Star Wars hair clips use a cut-out silhouette design, made from coated metal. The Darth Vader is available in black, while the Yoda is available in your choice of green or silver. Green isn’t my usual first choice, but it is definitely my preference for Yoda themed items! It is interesting to note that the Yoda silhouette is not symmetrical – one ear points up, while the other ear points straight out. I really like this little touch of personality to the design.
The Darth Vader clip measures approximately 4cm by 4cm, while the Yoda clip measures approximately 4.5cm by 3cm. This is a great size for the design, you can even wear several clustered together for a great themed look. The backing clip for each measures approximately 5cm long.
The backing clip is a simple design – a thin loop of metal wire that hinges open/closed to clip over a small round knob. Pushing the clip closed, the wire flexes open to fit over the knob, but snaps back into its original smaller shape to hold in place. While these clips are a great size, they are not designed to hold your ponytail, these are more for decorative use, perfect for holding hair off your face.
The silhouette shapes have a slight curve to them, so they sit nicely against the curve of your head. The backing clip is longer than the front silhouette, which is great for pushing into your hair to set into place. With the clips pointing in one direction, I find it a little easier to wear them on my left side to hold hair off my face, but they are wearable in any spot you like.
These clips are versatile – you can even use them for scarf clips! The open faced design can hold a reasonable amount of fabric, perfect for adding a little Star Wars touch to a plain lightweight scarf, or use them with your favourite Star Wars scarf for a full themed look.
I just love these Star Wars clips, and wear them all the time. The black Darth Vader clip is great for a more subtle look against my dark hair, while the green Yoda clip is perfect for a bolder, Jedi themed look. Now I just need someone to make French Barrette style Star Wars hair clips for my ponytail, and I’m all set!
