The Dynomighty wristlet is made from a single folded sheet of the strong micro fiber material Tyvek, with one main zip-up compartment, and a detachable wristlet strap. The print is a pyschedelic style design, with bright colour tones. The bag came with 2 tags attached – the first is a small cardboard tag featuring the Dynomighty, Star Wars and Disney logos on the front, while the back notes ‘long lasting – light weight – water resistant’. The second tag is made from Tyvek material – it is larger so you can play with it and test it out. The Tyvek tag reads –
I’m Tyvek® I feel like paper but I’m a super durable microfiber. Don’t worry about spills, I’m water-resistant, tear-resistant, and green too! Check me out!
The Tyvek material does really feel like paper – it has an interesting smooth texture. The material has a bit of surface creasing that makes it look a bit like paper as well. This creasing is a little more noticeable in person that it was in the advertising photos, but I don’t mind it. I think it would be less noticeable on the other Star Wars vintage poster wristlet, with its ‘torn poster’ printed design.
The bag measures approximately 20cm long, 14cm high and 7.5cm wide (at the widest parts). I can easily fit a smartphone, compact, cash and keys etc – or a good amount of makeup if using this as a cosmetic bag.
The print is a funky psychedelic design with pink, yellow, purple and blue tones. I personally love pink used for Star Wars items, they stand out as designed for women (plus I love the colour too). The swirling pattern includes the Star Wars logo, Death Star, Millennium Falcon, X-Wing Fighter and TIE Fighter. I have to admit, I would just adore a dress made from this print!
The pattern placement on my bag is the same on both sides, with the TIE Fighters only visible on the bottom of the bag. This placement is the same as the one used in advertising photos, which makes sense if these bags are made from a single folded sheet (rather than cut from a larger sheet, which usually results in random pattern placement).
One side seam features a detachable wristlet strap. The strap is attached with a silver tone metal clasp, which clips onto the bag by a silver tone D-ring tab sewn into the upper side seam. The wristlet strap is sewn from the same patterned Tyvek material as the bag, folded over and top stitched with pink thread. The strap measures approximately 18cm long, while the internal circumference of the wrist opening is approximately 29cm – nice and easy to slip onto your wrist.
The side seam also has a black and white fabric tag, which features the text ‘DYNOMIGHTY’ on both sides. The tag is sewn into the side seam, just below the wristlet strap clip. I appreciate the use of a low profile tag, it doesn’t distract from the design.
The bag closes with a pink plastic zipper across the top, with a silver tone metal zipper pull. The bright pink zip matches the colour scheme of the bag nicely. The zipper is sewn into the bag with colour matched pink top stitching.
Inside, the bag is lined with plain black lining fabric. The lining fabric has a texture/thickness that feels ideal for a makeup bag. There is also a layer of padding, in between the Tyvek and the lining fabric on both sides and the bottom – a nice touch, as the outer material is lightweight.
The bottom is flat, so it sits nicely. The seams down the side and across the bottom give a wider shape at bottom which is great for a cosmetic bag, sitting upright on a counter easily. The bottom also features the small printed text ‘© & TM Lucasfilm Ltd.’ noting this is a licensed item.
The Dynomighty Star Wars Psychedelic wristlet is a fun bag – I am still fascinated by the Tyvek material. While this may not be as glamorous as some wristlets for an evening out, it is durable and fun. I just love the vibrant print, it is great to see a company use such a bold pink colour scheme for a Star Wars item! I can’t decide if I’ll use this as a purse or cosmetic bag – it is perfect for holding my makeup, but then I want to show off the fun print with my outfits!
