Today’s mail call features the adorable The Child necklace by Jacmel. There has been no shortage of jewelry inspired by The Mandalorian and The Child, so I’m always delighted when I spot something a little bit different that catches my eye. This little pendant instantly grabbed my attention, so of course I couldn’t wait to film a fun unboxing video when it finally arrived!
Officially licensed Star Wars jewelry inspired by the fan favorite character The Child from the hit Disney Plus series The Mandalorian. Grogu is super cute with large ears, and wide eyes on a yellow gold plated 16″ link chain with a 2″ extender that is perfect for layering or wearing on its own.
The necklace is priced at US$29.99 each – shipping rates/policies vary by Amazon seller.

The necklace came in a Star Wars branded cardboard box, with a slipcase. As this is a Grogu necklace, the packaging features The Mandalorian and Grogu together, as well as the Disney + logo and website url. The necklace is made by Jacmel, which is a brand I haven’t come across before.
Removing the slipcase, the necklace is packaging inside a nice white gift box with removable lid. Inside, the necklace is packaging inside clear plastic, nestled on top of soft fill. Perhaps not the most glamourous presentation, but a secure one, which is important to me as an international fan – my items have a long way to travel, and I hate getting all excited for a new arrival, only for it to arrive damaged. No worries here.
I was quite impressed that this necklace came packaged inside two zip-lock bags! The pendant was inside a small bag, with the chain hanging out a small opening, then it was all inside a slightly larger bag. This helps keep the chain away from the pendant, and is great for avoiding tangles. This is how I like to store my Star Wars vintage jewelry, as those 1970’s and 1980’s designs use a fair bit of enamel that can crack and chip away. A nice touch here.
The Child necklace features a wide sculpted pendant feature Grogu’s smiling face. The sculpt has a cute chibi style to it, with the details accented with black enamel. This pendant really captures Grogu’s big eyes and big ears, so there is no doubt this is a Baby Yoda necklace!
The back of the pendant is glossy and smooth, with the standard Lucasfilm copyright text on the back, noting that this is a licensed item. The back also notes this necklace is made of Brass, by JCM China.
The Amazon listing notes that the chain is ‘yellow gold plated’ – but doesn’t mention if the pendant is. Even if it is gold-plated, only sold gold items carry a precious metal mark, so I wouldn’t expect it here. Honestly for a US$30 necklace, I’m quite impressed with the finish and shine.
The pendant is joined to a matching yellow gold-toned chain at each ear – so the pendant hangs directly in the middle, and doesn’t flip over when worn. This style of necklace also doesn’t ‘ride around’ very much, you know, where the clasp ends up at the front – so it always looks tidy.
The necklace is approximately 41cm long (including clasp and pendant), with an additional 5cm of wider-link chain at the end for adjustment. The clasp is a standard ‘lobster claw’ style, which is nice and secure, with a good ‘spring’ to it, so it closes well.
All up, I am very happy with this purchase. To be honest, I wasn’t 100% sure if this was a licensed item or not, as Amazon is rife with random, unlicensed Grogu items and it wasn’t made by one of the usual Star Wars jewelry brands like SalesOne or Bioworld. I didn’t really mind either way, as I loved the pendant design, but I generally don’t expect to pay as much for unlicensed items. As it turns out, it is licensed, and looks just as good as I hoped! A great item to pair with any Grogu themed outfit, or just when I want that little extra touch of Baby Yoda cute.
May the Force be with you!
