The fashionable fan event ‘Dapper Day’ is currently being held at Disneyland in California this weekend. First started in 2011, the event has grown in popularity ever since, with more and more fans putting a huge amount of work into creating a themed outfit. As adults are not allowed to wear costumes inside Disney theme parks, Dapper Day is a great time for fans wear themed looks based on their favourite character. I love the ‘Disney Bounding’ concept (dressing like a character using everyday clothing), and while you can wear a themed outfit to the park on any day of the year, these organised events are a fun opportunity to get together with like-minded fans and get some great group photos! As I can’t attend, I’m following all the great fashion on Instagram!
DAPPER DAY Events celebrates the tradition of “stepping out in style” and are meant to showcase you at your best. We do not aim to recreate a specific period. All sophisticated attire is encouraged from vintage-inspired classics to chic contemporary looks.
The event is hosted twice a year (spring and fall) at the Disney Parks in California, Florida, and Paris. These are not official Disney Park events, but the organisers work with Disney – there’s even an expo at the California event. It’s like the Her Universe Fashion Show – but everyone can make an outfit and show off their style! I love seeing all the Star Wars outfits – everyone looks amazing! 🙂
