Catherine from Elhoffer Design has revealed another stunning Star Wars dress, this time featuring Padme’ Amidala! This dress is inspired by Padme’ Amidala’s ‘Loyalist Committee’ gown from Episode II, which is often regarded by costumers as one of her best outfits from the prequels. This is a gorgeous dress – I’m completely envious of the lucky Star Wars fan who gets to wear it!
The coat is made from a burnout stretch velvet and a navy and grey double scuba, with the navy as the interior color, and a purple ponte as the piping. The underdress is made from the same double scuba as well as a stretch sequin fabric for the chest detail.
This dress has been seen as purple and as navy/blue. I chose to do the blue coloring as the paper doll amidala book was one of my favorites, and the book renders her dress blue.
If you’re interested in commissioning this design, Catherine notes that the fabrics and time required to create this gown will put the cost at over US$1,000. As costumers will know, skill and quality are always worth their price when it comes to sewing. I am just in awe – I hope Catherine designs more Padme’ Amidala inspired dresses!
