I still remember when I first heard about Her Universe, I can’t believe it’s been five years already! As part of the celebrations, there will be a series of live streams on Twitter. The first stream event has just finished, Ashley and the team revealed some great information – like an item featuring Hera Syndulla is in the works! As a big Rebels fan, this is exciting news. Lots of request for the lightsaber skirts and women’s Sabine top – both will be available on-line soon. It was great to get an inside peak at the Her Universe offices, I’m looking forward to the next live stream – I will update this post with any new information about upcoming Star Wars products. In the mean time, I have my Star Wars cupcakes ready to join in the dessert party at home 🙂
*updates*
- The new burnout logo shirt has the outline logo design of the original, but the blue colour of the full burnout logo t-shirt
- Expect a Star Wars collection in time for Episode 7, with Ashley mentioning BB-8 and Rey designs
- The Vitruvian AT-AT t-shirt will also be restocked on-line soon (yay, I missed this one at Celebration)
- More designs planned to be sold at Disneyland/Disneyworld like the Darth Vader and R2-D2 dresses
- Plans for more ‘cosplay’ style items like the Han Solo dress
Many years ago, an on-line friend I know through costuming set up a Facebook page for women wanting more Star Wars fashion. Gaining followers very quickly (myself included), it was great to see so many other female Star Wars fans speaking up about the lack of licensed apparel for women. Our voices were heard when Ashley Eckstein started Her Universe, and has lead the way in creating fashionable Star Wars apparel and accessories for women. Congratulations on five years and I look forward to what you have in store for us in the future 🙂
