The first two episodes of the Disney + series Obi-Wan Kenobi aired today, and I’ve been reflecting on the early prequel era of my Star Wars fandom. It makes me so happy to see Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen back together again, they have always been a huge part of Star Wars for me.
In 2002, after seeing Episode II, I ran out and bought the only Obi-Wan Kenobi t-shirt I could find – which was this one, from the boys section. Of course, I also got the matching Anakin Skywalker t-shirt, again, from the boys section. Fast forward to now, and women have so many options for Star Wars apparel, it is amazing to see how far we’ve come in 20 years.
It felt like the past 20 years has been leading up to this series, and I can’t wait for more. More Obi-Wan and Anakin, more prequel apparel, more everything!
