Today’s review features the Body Vibe x Star Wars Imperial symbol charm bracelet. Featuring the expandable bracelet style first made popular by Alex And Ani, the bracelet features an Imperial ‘cog’ symbol charm, and 3 smaller accent charms. I am a big fan of bracelets, so I’m always looking for new designs to add to my collection – the classic Imperial theme goes with so many outfits.
The bracelet is still available from selected Body Vibe jewelry stockists, including Amazon sellers (shipping rates/policies vary by seller), and Kohl’s (ships within the US). Prices correct at time of writing.
- Star Wars Imperial symbol charm bracelet – US$17.40 to US$29.97 each (Amazon)
- Star Wars Imperial symbol charm bracelet – US$37.50 each (Kohl’s)
My bracelet was purchased (on sale) from Kohl’s, so the packaging differs to those sold elsewhere. The bracelet came packaged in a nice black and white cardboard gift box. The top lid is black, and features the Star Wars and Disney logos printed in white. Lifting the lid, the bracelet is held to the cardboard insert by 3 white ‘twisty ties’. The bracelet is made from stainless steel, and features 4 pendants – 1 large main charm, and 3 small additional charms.
The expandable bracelet is described as 7.5″ in length, in a ‘one size fits most’ design – this is the ‘default’ size, which can be adjusted. I can comfortably fit it over my hand to wear, and it is easy to tighten or loosen with the overlapping mechanism. The internal circumference is approximately 19cm – this is measured at the bracelets ‘default’ size, but it can be worn wider or tighter if preferred.
The main Imperial ‘cog’ symbol charm features a recessed design, filled with black enamel. This is a different approach compared to the Alex And Ani Imperial symbol bracelet, which uses a plastic dome over a printed image on its charm. While I personally don’t own that bracelet, reviews on the Disney Store website comment on the plastic scratching or coming off completely, which would affect the appearance. This Body Vibe version doesn’t have that issue, which was definitely a selling point for me.
The Imperial symbol pendant is attached between the bracelet ‘ends’, so it can’t rotate around the whole bracelet. The Imperial charm measures approximately 29mm across – the back is stamped with ‘© & ™ Lucasfilm Ltd.’ noting this is a licensed item. The stainless steel has a lovely shiny finish, which really helps the black enamel design stand out.
The 3 small additional charm feature a Dark Side theme – the first is a small round charm with the text ‘Come To The Dark Side’, the second features a Death Star design, while the third is a cut-out Star Wars logo charm. These are made from the same silver-tone stainless steel as the rest of the bracelet, with the circular charms also featuring black details, coordinating nicely with the main Imperial symbol charm.
These additional charms really add to the theme of the bracelet – I especially love the cute little Death Star charm, accented with black enamel and a single clear rhinestone. The 2 circular charms measure approximately 9mm across, while the cut-out Star Wars logo charm measures approximately 13mm by 5.5mm. The Alex And Ani x Star Wars bracelets feature generic additional charms, so I really appreciate the full Star Wars theme of all the charms on this bracelet.
While Alex And Ani will always be a trendsetter for expandable bracelets, this version by Body Vibe is a welcome addition to my jewelry collection. This style can be worn on its own, or stacked with others for a cluster look. Body Vibe also make Darth Vader and Stormtrooper expandable bracelets, perfect to wear all together for a themed look. I also own the ‘I Love You’ – ‘I Know’ bracelet, which is one of my favourites – I hope to see more Body Vibe x Star Wars bracelet designs available in the future!
