I eagerly anticipated the launch Her Universe back in 2010 – and bought many of their early items, including both versions of the Star War logo burnout t-shirt. When I heard Her Universe would be re-releasing this item for their 5th anniversary, I jumped at the chance to add this new version to my collection. I bought mine in size small – it measures approximately 41cm across the chest (underarm to underarm) and 58cm from front neckline to hem. The t-shirt retails for US$20.00 direct from Her Universe and is still available in sizes XS to 4X (+$2 for 3X, +$4 for 4X). The garment tag notes the fabric is 60% cotton, 40% polyester, which is lovely and soft.
I was of course keen to compare this new version to my original burnout t-shirts. The new version uses the burnout logo from the purple version, with the shirt colour of the blue version (new version on the left/top in the photos below – they photograph slightly differently, but do appear the same colour in person). The fabric is the same composition across all three shirts, though interestingly the new t-shirt’s burnout section is less ‘see through’ compared to the older versions. The back of the older shirts also features the older Ahsoka Tano inspired Her Universe logo. Her Universe doesn’t seem to use this logo prominently any more, perhaps why the back of the new t-shirt is blank. My original burnout t-shirts are size medium, which both measure approximately 43cm across the chest (underarm to underarm). One might question why I bought three quite similar t-shirts, but I really like my mini-collection. Some days the classic Star Wars logo is all you need.
