The earrings came packaged on a cardboard backing card. I bought this pair when they were first released, so the backing card design may have changed since then. The earrings come with little plastic stoppers on the back, to help prevent them from accidentally coming off the backing card. I like to keep these stoppers, I find them useful to use while wearing dangle earrings to help stop them coming off accidentally (especially if you find earrings get caught in your hair).
These earrings feature a 3D sculpt of Kylo Ren’s ‘crossguard’ style lightsaber, as seen in The Force Awakens (and again later in The Last Jedi). Each lightsaber is hung on a silver-tone French style dangle earring hook, with a small black bead at the base of the hook for added detail. The bead can’t slide around the curve of the hook, so you don’t need to worry about loosing it.
The earrings are made from Stainless Steel, but are coated to create the red and black colour scheme of the lightsaber design. The blades are a brilliant metallic red, which reflects light quite well. This helps give a slight ‘glowing’ effect, especially when they catch sunlight.
Even though the size of the hilts mean the sculpt has to be simplified a little, the end of the hilt still has small gaps, just like the original full-size film prop. Attention to detail like this always makes me smile. The ends of the blades are a little pointed, but rounded enough so they don’t scratch your skin.
Each lightsaber pendant measures approximately 4.5cm long, and approximately 2.4cm across (at the crossguard/widest point). These are very lightweight earrings – being made of Stainless Steel rather than plastic means they are very sturdy, but still light and comfortable to wear.
The back of the main/longest blade of each earring has the standard Lucasfilm copyright text printed in white, noting that this is licensed Star Wars jewelry, which is made from Stainless Steel. The text is very small when trying to read it in person, it is much easier to see enlarged in photos. As this text is only on the back, it is quite hidden when wearing the earrings.

Lightsabers are always a popular choice for earring designs, so of course it is great to see Kylo’s unique hilt design used for jewelry. If you’re a bit quirky like me, you can mix and match this set with the Rey Lightsaber earrings – one for each ear! They are pretty close in scale to each other, though the Rey lightsaber earrings do weigh just a little more than the Kylo lightsaber earrings.
While I liked Kylo Ren in The Force Awakens, it was after seeing The Last Jedi that he climbed up my list of favourite characters. I find myself eager to add more Kylo Ren themed fashion to my wardrobe, so these earrings were a must-have!
