Today’s review features the gorgeous Star Wars lightsaber ‘Light Love’ necklace by Lantern Pins. I am so happy to see Lantern Pins offering some of her beautiful pin designs as jewelry! I am always on the look-out for fun and sparkly Star Wars necklaces, so this lightsaber heart design was on my wish list the moment I saw it!

The necklace came packaged in a cute little white cardboard box. Taking off the top lid, the necklace is presented on a branded Lantern Pins backing card, with a starburst printed design. The necklace is held onto this insert card with the necklace chain passing through two slits in the top of the card, with the rest of the chain stored behind.
The insert card is resting on a soft polyester fill insert, so the necklace/backing card stays in place. This is a lovely presentation, whether you are buying this as a gift for someone, or a little treat for yourself. I love the placement of the starburst design on the backing card – it adds a little bit of excitement to opening up your new jewelry!
The ‘Light Love’ necklace features a heart-shaped pendant, with a cut-out center. The right side of the heart also features a lightsaber hilt, so that the blue heart forms the lightsaber blade emitting from the hilt.
This lightsaber hilt is of course the one originally built by Anakin Skywalker, passed to Luke Skywalker, and finally used by Rey. I love that this particular hilt can represent each of the trilogies, and can work with so many themed outfits! Whether you’re going for a Anakin, Luke, or Rey themed outfit, or just Jedi or Light Side themed – it coordinates perfectly!
Of course one of the main details of this necklace is the blue glitter! I love a little bit of sparkle with my jewelry, and this details works perfectly with a lightsaber design. The glitter isn’t too loud or overdone, but gives a wonderful ‘lightsaber blade’ effect to the design. The glitter is sealed inside the blue enamel, so it has a smooth surface (not rough or exposed).
I particularly love the colours of this blue glitter – there’s a subtle touch of green tones as well. The glitter really works perfectly for a lightsaber themed jewelry design – a great representation of the glow of the blade, and it really sparkles in the sun!
The detail on this pendant is good, even when viewed up close. The detail lines on the lightaber hilt are raised – the ‘base’ of the hilt is accented with black enamel fill, to represent the black ‘grips’ on the hilt, while the rest of the hilt design is plain silver-tone with recessed sections.
On this particular necklace, there is a subtle yellow tint in some areas – I don’t notice this as much in person, but it does show up in my close-up photos. There is also a slight flaw on the lower left outer edge of the heart – it appears to be a small ‘splash’ of clear coating/enamel which is a little bit of a shame, but it doesn’t affect the front design.
The back of the necklace has a textured finish, in the same silver-tone colour as the front of the pendant. The pendant measures approximately 2.4cm wide at the widest part of the ‘heart’, or 2.7cm including the lightsaber hilt, and approximately 2.1cm high (not including hanger rings).
The pendant is attached to the necklace chain with two rings – one on each side of the top of the heart pendant. This style of attachment ensures the pendant stays level when worn, and doesn’t swing around. The chain is a standard silver-tone colour, which matches with the silver colour of the pendant.
The necklace has a standard ‘lobster claw’ style clasp, with a set necklace length of 19″. This necklace does not have a length of adjustment chain, which is fairly standard with double-hanger pendants. If this necklace had adjustment chain, it would affect the way the pendant would hang, or expose the clasp on one side of your neck.
I think the chain length is perfect for this necklace style, and it’s nice to see that the length of chain is the same on both sides, which keeps the clasp neatly at the back of your neck when wearing.
As I mentioned with the matching Kylo Ren lightsaber heart necklace, this is such a creative way to use a lightsaber for jewelry design. I am a big fan of ‘force users’ in Star Wars, whether it is jedi, sith, force users etc – so lightsabers are something I am always drawn to in Star Wars fashion and accessories.
I love finding a design like this that works with so many outfit themes, I know I’ll be wearing this necklace all the time!
As this necklace is called ‘Light Love’, as a coordinating design to the ‘Moody Love’ Kylo Ren inspired lightsaber heart necklace (check out our review here), this blue necklace is obviously Rey themed – the two make a neat set for ‘Reylo’ fans. I really like that the lightsaber is on a different side of the heart pendant for each design – not that you would wear these necklaces together, but the opposite position makes these necklaces a great option for a ‘best friends’ style necklace set.
