A little while I bought the Loungefly sugar skull Stormtrooper crossbody bag – I had seen it in person at Celebration Anaheim and found myself needing it! I bought mine for US$49.95 from a seller on Amazon – it is still available direct from Loungefly (US$60.00 each), and from Fun.com (US$54.99 each). While I’m not usually drawn to the ‘sugar skull’ style, I loved the added details and style of this sugar skull stormtrooper bag – the white background of the helmet helps it stand out.
The crossbody bag is made from a black faux leather,with a large white faux leather stormtrooper appliqué on the front flap. The appliqué features printed details in black and silver, and embroidered details in black and silver. On either side of the Stormtrooper is black rose, with silver embroidered lines, and the whole design is finished off with radiating silver lines in a ‘sunburst’ style. This is my ideal amount of ‘sugar skull’ detail to a Star Wars design – the Stormtrooper looks well decorated, but not too much as to obscure the helmet’s own details. The bag closes with a magnetic snap closure on the front and flap – it does not zip closed. There is a zip pocket on the front of the bag under the flat, and an open pocket inside the bag.
The bag has all the classic Loungefly x Star Wars details – black lining fabric with a repeating Star Wars logo print, and the black enamelled metal Star Wars logo plaque on the back. The shoulder strap is adjustable – you can wear it over one shoulder at it’s shortest length, or across the body with the strap adjusted longer. I find that I prefer to wear it over one shoulder – the strap measures approximately 70cm at it’s shortest length (so the full length would be roughly twice that). The bag measures approximately 23cm across at the top, approximately 28cm across the widest part, and approximately 28cm tall. The metal hardwear is all silver coloured – I really like the sturdy construction of the clips for the shoulder strap. This bag (along with the matching wallet) is now my ‘everyday’ handbag – it comfortably fits all the items I need, I love it!
