The Walt Disney Company recent held a fashion and lifestyle event at Somerset House in London. The event showcased Disney branded fashion created by European designers like Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, Olympia Le Tan, Emma J Shipley, and Irregular Choice. 200 fashion companies were invited to attend, to view new and recent collections, as well as concept items. The idea behind the event was to showcase Disney Fashion for adults – to expand product lines by showing just how creative and fashionable adult Disney fashion collaborations can be. The event showed classic Disney character themed products, as well as Star Wars, Pixar, and Marvel.
We all know Star Wars and Disney isn’t just for children, so it’s great to see Disney making a push for more fashion labels/designers to collaborate on licensed collections. With labels like Preen and Irregular Choice creating hugely popular women’s Star Wars fashion collections, I would absolutely love to see more!
Items on display including four new Star Wars women’s footwear designs by Irregular Choice, a Darth Vader appliqué clutch by Alvarno, the classic Darth Vader sleeveless white shirt by Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, Star Wars scarves by Emma J. Shipley, a First Order Stormtrooper dress by Claire Barrow, and a stunning custom laser cut Stormtrooper jacket!
